So a bit about me…

Hi, I’m Claire Tomlinson and I founded Plot Design in 2009 after the birth of my first son. I pride myself in being a friendly interior design consultancy with an established reputation for creating contemporary interior design solutions for both domestic and commercial environments, specialising recently in salon interior design.

I offer a broad range of services, from bespoke interior design packages and interior styling to 3D visualisation and virtual staging.

I strongly believe that no two clients are the same and I pride myself on adapting to meet the needs of every client, offering an hourly rate for those clients that need a nudge in the right design direction.

With over 23 years of experience in the interior design industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects – from stylish beauty salons and modern city apartments to creative office interiors and elegant family homes.

At Plot Design, I’ve built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional residential and commercial interior design solutions. Our client portfolio includes leading brands such as IKEA, Rubik’s and Unite Students, alongside countless satisfied private homeowners and business clients.

Much of our work comes through client referrals and word-of-mouth recommendations, which I believe reflects the quality and care we put into every project. My approach is both flexible and professional, adapting to each client’s individual style, goals, and budget.

I see the interior design process as a collaborative journey. Many of my clients have a clear vision for their space – my role is to refine and bring that vision to life with creativity, functionality, and expert attention to detail.

Who have I worked with?

 

IKEA UK & IKEA International

I worked in a freelance capacity for the IKEA organisation, for several years, and have designed areas ranging from living rooms to kitchens, the restaurant and behind the scenes office areas. Most recently I designed the bedrooms for the Win at Sleeping advert campaign.

RUBIKS

I was delighted to be asked to design the head office, in London, for Rubiks. The project was based around the brand identity and story telling around the cubes invention.

ITV’s Coronation Street

I worked with the design department to create a three dimensional walk through of ‘The Street’

Unite Students

This was a big rebranding project involving over 25 of their student properties, based all around the country.

Domestic clients

Providing a whole range of interior design services.

Property Developers

I also work with property developers to create plans for their projects, whether that be luxury homes or HMO’s, optimising space and putting working drawings together for construction, such as lighting and electrical layouts.

More recently I have been designing salons for the hair and beauty industry.
